A Few Rides

With it being so hot as early as 8:00am I have had little to no motivation to get out and ride my bike. The last 2 days however, have been only reaching a high of about 75. So, today I went for a little loop up and over Griffith Park and past the observatory. Its my favorite local loop because the majority of it is on a closed road that can get steep. Once I make it back down to the surface streets I either go back up through the park, or through Glendale and drop back into Burbank. They are perfect little 25 miler morning rides that have some climbing.

Emily also sold her mountain bike and we were lucky enough to pick up a used Colnago off of a regular customer of the bike shop. Its in AMAZING condition and is stocked with full '85 super record. I cleaned it up, polished it and rewrapped the bars. I also went through a local supplier that specializes in older parts and got some replacement hoods. Those weren't cheap. One of my favorite things about the bike is that It has vintage cobalto brakes on it. I looked on Ebay and found that they are worth more than we paid for the entire bike... wow. Once she has graduated to something with integrated shifting this bike will make a beautiful wall decoration at home or in our pizza place. Below is a picture of the bike in her trainer.
