We met up at our place of employment, The Hub Cyclery, and decided to head out on one of our favorite roads to celebrate the long awaited return of Mr. Aaron Hughes. We headed out Poplar and then went over to Jewett and then took Pepper. We had originally wanted to take Meecham back to keep it easy, but once we hit Walker we turned into tough guys. Normally I am all for a hard ride, but with the hips STILL on the mend I need to remind myself to take it easy. I did not do this. As soon as we turned the Walker sign Aaron and I started to race. 53/11 the whole time! Neck and neck, elbow to elbow, and nothing but man pain. We were pushing it so hard we didn't even realize we were headed right for an out of control semi! At the last minute Aaron was able to shove me to the side and save me from a head on collision, and take a skilled picture with his iphone.
Startled, we made our way home. Aaron turned onto Canfield and I resumed on Roblar. The climb was a little more then I wanted to tackle, but I pushed my way through knowing I would pay for it later. I was so tired once I got home I could barely get off the bike. With a hot shower and my regular stretches, I am feeling great! I celebrated my amazing quest with two hot dogs and a movie, and a nap. Since I removed my cycling computer you will have to reference Aaron's Garmin link for our loop. He even has our heart rate listed!
